<<>>Chapter 1: Meeting
On a July evening, at seven o'clock, the sky hadn't faded yet.
On Qifeng Mountain, in front of an unnamed stone tablet.
In a black casual outfit, Ye Ning stood before the tombstone. Her face, as if carved by grief, was cold and clear. "Mom, tomorrow marks the tenth anniversary. I listened to you and restrained my edges for ten years. Tomorrow—I'm going back to the Ye Family."
All around was silent, the only answer to the stillness being the rustling of the wind.
"Bang!"
With a deafening boom, Ye Ning turned her head. Her captivating eyes narrowed slightly before she turned and looked in the distance.
There was a black limousine parked there, its tires flat and the car at a slant.
A man came down the stairs. He was dressed in black and walked unsteadily, as if he were injured.
Then, he was followed by a dozen or so people, all dressed in black.
Bo Han turned his head back, a chill spread across his stern face. He covered his abdomen with one hand, his skin turning pale.
"Don't run, we paid such a heavy price for you, you can't escape." The black man glared at the thin and cold figure of someone approaching. The leader radiating murderous aura had no expression on his face.
"Just you?" Bo Hannian narrowed his long and narrow eyes, his voice as cold as ice.
Pain in his abdomen assaulted his brain, and he felt himself slipping away, knowing he couldn't hold on much longer.
"Then give it a try." The black man said, then charged towards Bo Hannian.
"Uh?"
At that moment, a stone flew in from somewhere and hit the black man. He felt a jolt in his wrist and fell to his knees.
The Black man's face contorted, and he growled, "Who?"
Ye Ning's voice was faint, unable to hear any emotion. "You disturbed my mother's rest, please don't bother her again."
Over a dozen pairs of eyes stared at Ye Ning, all with solemn expressions.
Even in the cold winter, there was a hint of surprise in those sharp eyes.
All these in front of him were international assassins, each a master who could defeat ten men with ease, yet they were all brought down by this teenage girl with a single stone.
This kid—he's not simple!
"Mind your own business, or you're asking for death!" The leader narrowed his eyes and whispered, "Kill!"
The rest immediately rushed over.
Ye Ning's eyes narrowed, with a hint of coldness in them.
"Watch out!" Bo Hannian had already reacted when the black man charged towards Ye Ning.
Suddenly! Bo Hannian's footsteps came to an abrupt halt, his ink-black pupils glimmering with disbelief.
More than a dozen assassins didn't even have the chance to make a move, and all fell before Ye Ning.
And yet, she still stood rooted in place, her expression serene, not even the flicker of an eyelid betraying her thoughts.
If it weren't for that pair of hands still reaching out, Bo Hannian would have thought he was hallucinating.
"Get lost!" Ye Ning's jaw rose slightly, her voice as cold as frost.
They looked at him as if he were a ghost, "Who are you? What have you done to us?"
They still don't know how they fell.
Only seeing the child in front of me raise their hand and then sprinkle something like dust, they fell down.
And they didn't even get to touch the child's hair.
Before Ye Ning could reply, all the Black people fainted.
Ye Ning lowered her eyes to glance at them, then raised her head to look at Bo Hannian in the distance.
At that glance, Bo Han's heart skipped a beat. Such clear eyes, like a bright moon.
Bo Han's gaze softened, he withdrew his thoughts and walked over, his voice gentle. "Thank you."
Ye Ning glanced at him indifferently, "I didn't save you!"
I just don't want to be bothered and talk to my mother.
After speaking, Ye Ning turned and patted the tombstone. "I'm leaving now. Take care of yourself."
Before he could leave, he was stopped by Bohan Nian. "May I ask for your name?" he said. "So that I may repay you in the future."
"I didn't want to save you," Ye Ning waved her hand and continued walking forward.
"Just wait..." As soon as Bo Hannian finished his words, he fell straight down.
Ye Ning turned her head, her brows furrowed in thought, then lifted her foot and walked away.
But unexpectedly, a gust of wind swept around them. Ye Ning stopped in her tracks and looked up at the nameless stele. "Do you want me to save him?" Silence answered her. Ye Ning paused for a moment, her voice tinged with helplessness, "Then I'll save him!"
Ye Ning knelt down and opened Bo Hannian's clothes. At first glance, she saw a wound on his abdomen, and it was a serious one.
However, it's not a big deal.
From his bag, he took out a small porcelain bottle and sprinkled the medicine on it. Then, he took out another porcelain bottle and gave a pill to Bo Hannian.
If Han Nian was awake at this moment, he would surely discover that this pill was the healing pill being crazily sought after on the black market. A single pill was priced at five million and was practically priceless.
After giving Bo Hannian the pill, Ye Ning didn't stay any longer and left.
Lusheng City, Leng Family.
"As long as I live, Ye Ning will never be able to step foot in the Cold Family's mansion!" A furious voice echoed, loud enough for the entire villa to hear.
In the middle of the living room, Ye Ning slightly raised her eyes and looked at Ye Lao Tai, who was furious in front of her. Her peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly, and under her deep pupils that seemed to understand everything, there was a calmness undisturbed by the storm.
In the unseen, a smirk played at the corner of his mouth.
When Bei's father, Ye Xiangkun, brought him back, before he could even stand steady, Ye Lao Tai (the grandmother) got the news and asked them to come to the old house.
As soon as they walked in, Old Madam Ye made her stance clear and expressed her disapproval of their return.
Ah~"Mom! Xiao Ning is my son, your grandson."
Ye Xiangkun's hands hung limply at his sides, his jaw clenched, bearing the pain with a stoic effort.
After ten years, he finally found his daughter and was overjoyed. However, he never expected that his mother would refuse to let Ye Ning come back and even humiliated her in front of the whole family.
"Not worthy! I will never admit it!" Old Mrs. Ye slammed her palm on the table, "My grandson only has Xue'er."
Elder Ye's eyes turned to Ye Ning, those aged and cloudy pupils like a blade, piercing straight through.
Ye Ning raised her eyes and met Ye Lao Tai's gaze for a moment before looking away.
Let the old woman stare.
Ye Xiangkun suddenly raised his head, “Since I've found Xiaoning, I won't let her leave my side again. Anyway, we've already split our family, so you don't have to worry about my affairs!”
"You dare!" The old woman stood up abruptly, her voice filled with anger. "If you dare to take it back, I'll revoke your position and withdraw your share!"
Ye Xiangkun sneered, "Position? Salary? Mom, I'm just a small manager in the company now, earning a base salary of four thousand yuan a month. It's you who doesn't want me to leave the company. As for the share... didn't you take it all back?"
"You!" Old Mrs. Ye gritted her teeth, "Are you deliberately trying to go against me, aren't you?"
I never would have thought that this usually weak and incompetent son would actually confront her again and again for Ye Ning.
It's obvious, Ye Ning and that dead mother are the troublemakers, purposely trying to drive a wedge between them and their son.
Ye Xiangkun was just about to speak, when Ye Xue, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly spoke up, "Sir, would you agree to let your elder sister come back?"
"Hmph!" The old woman's expression toward Ye Xue had improved a lot, but she still coldly snorted. "Let Ye Ning come back, in your dreams!"
But...sister is Bo's fiancee!" Ye Xue blinked, a smile playing on her lips.
